Petrus Community Church – A few of the younger families and younger adults in the Church are gathering as the Church in a new way as the Petrus Community Church. Meetings will be held in the Parish Hall for worship and teaching, and this will continue on the second and fourth Sundays of every month at 5.00 pm. The next meeting is next Sunday, 12th June 2016.
Petrus is the Latin name for Saint Peter, in whose footsteps we are seeking to follow. We are offering something relaxed and informal, followed by a meal for those of us who are able to stay, and time for us to catch up with each other. Whilst all this is happening there will be after-meal games for the kids.
Everyone is welcome. If you haven’t been to Church for a while and want to come and experience the Church in a different way we look forward to welcoming you.
Anglican Womens Day – We look forward to welcoming Anglican women from all parts of the Hunter Region on Tuesday 7th June 2016 for the 2016 Annual Anglican Womens Service. The Bishop of Newcastle, The Right Reverend Gregory Thompson will lead the service, with Father David Battrick, Parish Priest of Saint Peter’s and Archdeacon of Maitland preaching. A special guest speaker will be the Reverend Fiona Bergstrom, a retired priest from the Parish of Woy Woy. Following the service and lunch there will be a very special musical program at 1.30 pm presented by a 25 piece band from the Hunter Valley Grammar School.
