On 15th February 2015 we celebrated 50 years of faithful ministry music in the Parish of East Maitland by Kathleen Waddell OAM on the occasion of her retirement as the Director of Music, at Choral Evensong followed by a Parish Dinner.
It was a great privilege for the Parish to welcome members of the East Maitland Sub-Branch of the RSL and their families for a special ANZAC Mass in Church, and to participate in the ANZAC Day Commemorations at the cenotaph in April 2017.
We were delighted to be joined by our guest speaker and preacher Father John Deane, Executive Director of the Anglican Board of Mission, on Sunday 28th May 2017 for our Overseas Mission Lunch.
We were delighted to welcome our Bishop, Bishop Peter Stuart to preside, administer the sacraments and bring us his teaching at our Patronal Festival on Sunday 25th June 2017.
On a chilly winter’s evening in early July, we were pleased to welcome The Secret Garden Sessions for a night of incredible music and entertainment.
On Sunday 3rd September 2017 we were thrilled to commission Kim Hodges as our new Parish Ministry Assistant.
The Commemoration Mass for the Battle of Passchendaele was held in Saint Peter’s Church on Sunday 8th October, where we welcomed members of the RSL Sub-branch and other guests.
At the beginning of November we welcomed many neighbours from the local community as we came together to remember and pray with love for those who have died.
On Saturday 11th November Father David, as the Parish Priest and the Chaplain of the East Maitland Sub-branch of the RSL led the Service of Remembrance at the East Maitland Cenotaph.
We were delighted to welcome the clergy of the Diocese together with representatives from the parishes and agencies for the Election Synod Mass on Friday 24th November 2017.
On the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ King of the Universe, Sunday 26th November 2017 we farewelled Jesse Poole and Scott and Melissa Mudd at the Sung Mass, followed by a Parish Lunch.
Our Parish Photographer Neville Foster has been out and about around the grounds capturing the beautiful jacaranda trees as we near the end of Spring.
Each year on Laetare Weekend (also known as Mothering Sunday Weekend) we continue the tradition of blessing simnel cake and wearing the distinctive rose coloured vestments, as a weekend of refreshment within the Season of Lent.
On Saturday 24th March we gathered to clean the silver and brass, decorate the church for Palm Sunday and make palm crosses at our Pre-Holy Week working bee.
In the first days of Holy Week we gathered in church each evening to sing Compline Night Prayer and reflect on the last words of Jesus from the Cross.

We were very pleased to welcome the former Prime Minister of Australia, The Honourable John Howard OM AC, Mrs Janette Howard and members of their family to the Sung Mass on Easter Day 2018.
We were delighted to welcome Bishop Sonia Roulston, the new Regional Bishop of the Inland Episcopate back to the Parish in which she heard the Gospel and was formed in faith on Sunday 27th May, soon after her consecration as a bishop.
On Tuesday 5th June 2018 we were delighted to welcome members of Anglican Women from around the Diocese for their annual Diocesan Mass and celebration day.
On Sunday 24th June we were delighted to welcome the Sydney Men’s Shed Chorale for a return visit to our church. The chorale performed a wonderful and energetic concert led by Musical Director, Keiren Brandt Sawdy, a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
