Liz

Parish Families’ Worker

Liz & AaronElizabeth has grown up in the East Maitland area, attending local schools, and has been a member of Saint Peter’s Church all of her life. She is married to Aaron, and they currently live in Lorn.

Through her late teens, Elizabeth led Bible study groups for older teens, tutored Primary to High School children in a range of subjects and taught Primary Special Religious Education in a voluntary capacity in many of the schools in the Maitland area. She continued in this direction afterward, through leading youth groups, continuing with Primary school SRE, and working in Out Of School Hours Care and Vacation Care at a local church for 8 years as both a regular staff member and as a director.

Elizabeth trained to be a High school teacher, focusing on English and History, achieving a Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts through Newcastle University.

She later went to further her studies at Morling College, attaining a Graduate Diploma in Divinity, and developing a keen interest in the explanation of faith, and it’s connection with every day life.

Elizabeth then combined her love of teaching and passion for faith and began teaching at Dungog High as an SRE teacher, and is now in her 7th year there. Elizabeth has since gone on to also teach SRE in Singleton High, Cessnock High, Mount View High and Maitland High. She currently teaches in Dungog, Maitland and Cessnock in addition to her ministry here at Saint Peter’s Church.
